Sessions are available on Fridays and Saturdays with additional weekday sessions during school holidays. These are usually carried out in your own home or your child's school or nursery setting. 

Assessments are offered for children of all ages but the nature of the assessment will vary depending on the needs and age of your child. The content of the assessment session will be discussed with you beforehand.

Your child is not required to have a formal assessment session before beginning therapy. Often your child will have had assessments carried out within an NHS or school setting, and these assessment results can be used to guide the therapy carried out with Tailor-made Speech & Language Therapy. On some occasions when up to date relevant assessment results are not available, it will be recommended that your child does have an assessment to ensure the therapy can be appropriately designed around your child's needs.

A short written summary is provided where appropriate following an assessment session. 

Written Reports are written on request following assessment or therapy sessions. Unless a written report is requested feedback will be given verbally alongside a short written summary only.

Written Programmes specifically designed for your child, can be devised to be carried out at home, pre-school or school settings to support their ongoing progress.

Therapy sessions target specific areas of difficulty for your child and may last between 45 minutes and 1 hour depending on the age and needs of your child. The number of sessions and length of the sessions recommended will depend on the aims.

During the therapy session some of the time will be spent working with the people who have regular contact with your child (often this includes parents, carers, siblings, teachers). Advice and recommendations to help your child practise what they are learning between therapy sessions will be given, in order for them to make as much progress as possible.

Group Therapy may be offered to you if it is felt your child would benefit from group working opportunities.

Training sessions can be arranged for people working closely with the child to support their understanding of how to help each child with the next steps of their development.
